My name is Kay Prescott, I am a senior at Hathaway Brown School in Shaker Heights Ohio. Since I was six years old I have had Tourette Syndrome. This year, In 2018, I started Habitual Reversal Training as a way to control my tics, lessen their triggers, and channel my urges elsewhere. Through HRT, I was introduced to meditation. Since then, I've been meditating regularly.
For the 2018-2019 school year, I received a Strnad Fellowship through Hathaway Brown School. This fellowship allows me to create a project pursuing an interest as long as I brainstorm, plan, organize, and execute it. The overall goal of my project is to introduce meditation to as many people possible.
I have always been skeptical of the idea of integrative medicine until starting meditation. It has helped me enormously as a teenager with Tourettes, but also as a regular busy high schooler.
I hope that visitors to my website become open to what meditation might be able to bring to their lives. I want more people to experience the relief that I felt from meditation and I want to to spread all the amazing stories of how meditation has changed peoples lives. Whatever your reason for starting, meditation can bring hope to any situation as it is an incredible form of healing.
